A candida albicans colony

If you’ve ever had a yeast infection or fungal infection, you might be seeking the best natural candida treatment on the market. There’s a discord between medical and holistic interpretation of candida. While systemic candidiasis is a medical condition acquired by people with immuno-compromised individuals and display tell-tale symptoms like recurrent yeast infections, thrush, or tinea corporalis. A holistic view of the condition involves a process of dis-ease that forms gradually. It may begin with a single yeast infection or wart and spread in otherwise healthy people by way of gut permeability, constipation and high sugar intake. Other signs might be seborrheic dermatitis, athletes foot, warts of various kinds, headache, depression, low energy, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, a thicky or greasy coating on your tongue, creamy discharge or a stinky poo poo breath.  If some of this sounds familiar consider this article to provide layers of information on the best natural candida treatment, as well as access to a health summit.

Candida is a naturally occurring, yet “opportunistic” fungus. With the right conditions, there’s no limit to where it will spread and, when rampant, and I suggested, it can cause intense sugar cravings, brain fog, bloating, depression, anxiety, digestive issues, low energy or worse… chronic diseases!

If the symptoms are persistent enough or diagnosable then your doctor might prescribve you an oral antifungal medication such as itraconazole or nystatin. A topical ointment might be prescribed- such as  clotrimazole, econazole, ketoconazole, lamisil, miconazole, tioconazole, terbinafine, and amorolfine as well yeast busting over-the-counter treatments such as as monostat for yeast infections. These treatments can work, and if the condition is severe they may be the best route. However, it might address the symptoms but not the disease condition. With these treatments, the condition could stop for a while, but if you’re not addressing the root cause, it could return with a vengeance!

Many people might resort to a more natural petroleum based group of products like: tar soaps, shampoos, and Vaseline/petroleum jelly to calm an itch. However keep in mind that these treatments are suppressive, and could drive the disease further into the body. These are not considered naturopathic.

So because candida starts in the gut, on the skin, in the vaginal canal, and the throat, it’s best to address it from a dietary standpoint. Very briefly; the best holistic approach to treat candida is a 3 step full-body protocol that starves the yeast, kills the yeast and repletes the good bacteria.

  1. Starves the yeast of it’s preferred sugar – you can’t eat sugar (alcohol, sugar, starches, high sugar fruit, fruit juice, added sugar), vinegar (white, balsamic, wine, condiments, ketchup), yeast (bread, beer), button and white mushrooms,  mold or moldy foods (peanuts, cantaloupe) when you are getting rid of candida
  2. Kills the yeast using antimicrobial herbs, antiparasitic supplements, spices and foods- green vegetables, sea greens, raw olive oil, pumpkin seeds, Coconut oil, raw or aged garlic, ginger, cloves, oregano oil, biofilm supplement, chlorella, green hulls of black walnut, pau d’arco tea,
  3. Repopulates good bacteria so the body recover- Probiotics, naturally unpasteurized fermented foods (sauerkraut, raw and unpasteurized kombucha – small amounts at a time). Some people need to be careful not to include too much prebiotic or FOS as it could feed bad bacteria as well.

This whole body protocol can take anywhere from 4 months to 2 years to work, depending on the severity of the issues, how well the program is followed and how long the individual has been suffering. The candida diet – a low starch, high vegetable diet rich is antimicrobial and antihelmintic spices, herbs and foods – is the traditional way to move forward.  Now the keto diet and the paleo diet give more mainstream options to enjoy a sugar-free candida diet, as long as the herbs are included, as listed above.

If you have used the following substances for years of your life, and you have the symptoms above, you might consider candida as the root of your problems:

  • Use of antibiotics
  • A high sugar diet
  • Allergies
  • Years of drinking alcohol
  • An immunosuppressive illness
  • Use of NSAIDs
  • Birth control

Too many people accept exhaustion and forgetfulness as “normal.” The truth is: we AREN’T meant to live with such low expectations of ourselves. Fortunately, Evan Brand, your host, also suffered (and healed!) from candida overgrowth, parasite infections and bacterial overgrowth. In his health practice, upwards of 95% of his clients have some degree of candida overgrowth — time and time again, he sees debilitating and mysterious symptoms disappear once candida overgrowth is addressed.
